I turned 35 this month. It was a very multi phased birthday with many opportunities to celebrate. The birthday festivities started out with Wes taking me out for an early birthday dinner to Chez TJ in downtown Mountain View. I felt completely spoiled by the experience. I've never seen nor eaten such amazing food in my life. It was truly food art, visually, and to your palate. Here we are before starting a most amazing meal.
We didn't take pictures of the beautiful pat of butter or the first course of soup, because we didn't want to be "those" people taking pictures of our food. But when this salad came out, it was impossible not to capture it before we ate it. Then I had wished I took pictures of everything. It looks like a scene from another world.

On my actual birthday I got to make my cake. I can't remember if I've made my own cake before, but I was excited to do it. I got exactly what I wanted. I made a chocolate chip cake filled with chocolate ganache and brown sugar buttercream, which makes it taste just a like a chocolate chip cookie. The little girls not in school, sure enjoyed the licking.

I also had a very unexpected but perfect visit from my dear friend Michelle! It was a somewhat chaotic morning, and Michelle stopped by with flowers, and a birthday hug, and joined us at the park for a bit. She really made my day.
I also got birthday wishes from my little nephew Bishop. He's only a couple weeks old here.
That night my Aunt Diane and my dad watched the girls so Wes and I could go out on my actual birthday. After our fancy night out the week before, we decided to go more casual with a burger from Vivi's and an evening hike. The view was beautiful.
The next day we met up at the beach with friends and family. It was a gorgeous way to spend the day.
I felt very celebrated this year.
