Well most of my photos from July ended up in my posts about our vacations and summer plans, but here are a couple other fun moments from July.

VBS

This year we participated in the VBS through Menlo Mountain View, where I go to Mothers Together.  Emeline loved the Everest VBS last year, and couldn't wait for this year.  Kate was excited to participate in the preschool group this year too.

Maui: Wilea & Aquarium

We spent the last couple days we had in Maui in the Wilea area.  We did lots of pool time at our hotel, and at the beach we could walk to, but unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of that.  

Here was the view from our hotel room. It looks out on the beach we went to.

And here are the girls enjoying the rocking chairs in the big lobby.

When I sent Wes out for a post bedtime treat, he came back with these.  Maybe Maui and I have a stronger connection than I thought :)

We had a delicious food truck lunch that we brought back to a beach with a playground.  No beach time here, but some good play time with an amazing view.

And the last thing we did before we drove to the airport was go to the Aquarium.  It was a great outdoor aquarium with lots to see.  The kids had fun!

Maui: Blowhole

On one of our last evenings in Lahaina, my dad and Grandma offered to watch the girls so Wes and I could have a date.  We took the opportunity to go exploring and do some hiking that would be too much for the kids.  We drove north of Lahaina up to a cool spot on the coast that the waves crash into and create what looks like a blowhole.  

The drive up into the hills was gorgeous.

Here we are at the top of the area where the blowhole is.  You have to hike down some hills to get to the rocky coast area to see the blowhole.

After our hike, we headed back to Lahaina for some amazing Mexican food at a restaurant called Frida's Mexican Beach House.  We started off with some fancy tequila that came with two different kind of blended chasers.

And not only did our food look like art, but it tasted amazing!

We even got to watch the sun set over dinner.  It was an awesome date and a gorgeous night.

Maui: Leoda's and Shark Pit

We got to eat some yummy food in Maui, but our two favorite places were a little bakery/cafe called Leoda's and a restaurant that used to be a taco truck called Shark Pit.  

Leoda's is just out side of Lahaina, not to far from the condo we stayed in.  Our friends from church, Jen and Jon, who I went to Nicaragua with, recommended it to us.  They have some amazing pies and the best breakfasts.  We had an ahi Benedict to die for.

And here is some of that delicious pie!  Yes, we had pie for breakfast.  We got a few mini ones to share.  

Shark pit used to be just a taco truck, but they opened up a storefront in a shopping center as well.  Our friends Mitch and Lu raved about it, so we had to give it a try.  They had an eclectic decor, mostly just cafe tables, but they also had a huge old fashioned dining table with some fancy dining chairs.  

When we got seated, the waitress told us it was a BYOB establishment.  They didn't server alcohol, but they said we could go next door to the grocery story and buy whatever we wanted.  LOL.  So wes got us some liquid aloha to go with our amazing tacos.

The tacos were amazing, especially the shrimp.  The kids devoured the fried rice, we had to buy a few orders of them.  

Yay for good food!
