Halloween Activities

Halloween is always a busy day for us.  Lots of festivities at preschool, neighborhood trick or treating, and Papa's birthday of course.  Here's what our celebrations looked like.

Halloween morning, we got all dolled up and went to preschool for the festivities there.  We had lots of fun with our friends!

Fun snacks...

Even Adele had a blast crawling and pulling up all over the classroom.

After quiet time we had a quick early dinner, including pumpkin raviolis again (a Costco tradition I think I will keep.  Quick, easy, and festive!), and then a little birthday cake for Wes.

Adele loved it.

Here's what the chocolate orange cake looked like inside.

Then we did a little trick or treating in our neighborhood.  Lots of kids were out and the neighbors were all friendly.

Adele was a little bored in the stroller.

But the big girls had lots of fun.

We ended the night with a little birthday party for Wes after the kids went to bed.  A Kids in the Hall marathon and game night hosted by Pete and Vickey.  With lots of yummy treats and more cake!

Happy birthday Wes!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Prep

Halloween has lots to prep for, especially since it's also Wes' birthday.  We had some cute photos of our prep, so it gets a post of its own.

The day before, our babysitter Emily was around to help with the girls while I made Wes' birthday cake.  They worked on art projects for Papa made out of foot prints.  Painting feet tickles!

Everyone gets a turn...

Helping stir the chocolate orange ganache for Papa's cake.

Layering up our mini family cake.

Mini cake all frosted!

A big dollop to fill up the bigger party cake.

And all done!  Adorned with Terry's chocolate orange slices....

Now we're all ready for the festivities!

Preschool field trip to Spina Farms

Here are some pics from our trip to the pumpkin patch at Spina Farms with preschool.  The girls had lots of fun and I was very nostalgic about coming here.  It brought back all kinds of memories from the trip two years ago when Emeline had just started preschool.  Now she's in her last year!  Hope you enjoy our fall fun!

Playing in the big pumpkin out front.

Cute friends Emeline, Nareya, and Fiona.

The pumpkin hat strikes again!

Listening to the presentation on pumpkins.

Views from the hay ride...

Gorgeous sunflowers.

Golden hills and golden flowers.

Picking out pumpkins.

I tried so hard to get a picture of the girls together.  These were my best efforts.  No one wanted to cooperate.

Adele had a great time standing with the pumpkins.  She's such a sweetie!  I can't believe I have a blondie.

After the pumpkin patch, it was close to lunch time and we were far from home.  I was feeling generous and brave, so I took the girls to Chik-fil-a by myself.  I usually don't do this...only drive thrus...but it went pretty well, except the three poopy diapers in an hour I had to deal with.  Here are the lunch time crazies.

After the big girls went to play on the play structure, I got to have a little lunch date with Adele.

Then we got home and posed with our pumpkins!

So if you're feeling nostalgic like me, you can take a look at pictures from our last trip to Spina Farms two years ago here.

Or you can just check out my sweet comparison photos.  Here's Emeline two years ago, and now.  2.5 and 4.5.

And here's a side by side of Emeline at 2.5 and Kate at 2.25.

I can't believe next year around this time Adele will be only a few months from 2!
