Emeline is catching up! She's been a little low on the percentiles since she was early, but at this month's weigh in, she's making a move! She's still low on the height and head circumference scales, but now is in the 60th percentile for weight! Woo hoo!
I've been stressing about Father's Day forever, because Wes is so awesome and such and amazing partner and helper with Emeline, that I can't think of the best gift in the world, which he deserves of course. So after much stressing, Emeline and I made him a card with cupons for some bike stuff he wants and video game time :). I hope that is just a token to thank him for all the awesome stuff he does as Emeline's dad.
I cooked us a big breakfast to celebrate, and we made the trek out to church. We were late again, but we made it. Hopefully we'll not be such strangers there in the future :).
Well in all our rushing about on Father's Day, we didn't take any photos. Boo. But Emeline did wear a super cute dress and she wore shoes for the first time! Cute little pink things from Grandma Chris, that I can't believe are actually still big on her.
So since no photos, here's a video of Emeline chatting it up with me today. She's smiling and cooing a lot now. We're so busy trying to make her smile that we never take pics, cause we are enjoying the big ones for ourselves. But we'll share those soon too. In the mean time, here's some of Emeline's talking...
This weekend Wes celebrated his graduation from the MSEE program at Stanford. He finished in December, but we had all the festivities this June. We celebrated with a BBQ at our place, ceremony on Sunday, and of course Emeline meeting more family!
Here are some highlights from the weekend.
Emeline meets Grandma Chris, Great Grandma Betty, and Auntie Jenn...
Bouncer time while everyone gets ready for the BBQ...
Emeline and Great Grandpa Carlos are dressed with Stanford Spirit...
Greg holds Emeline while we eat lunch...
At the ceremony, Emeline likes looking up at the trees...
Well, that title doesn't sound good, but it's appropriate.
At our church, there were 5 babies born between late March and the end of May, with Emeline kicking off the baby boom earlier than expected. Our small group hosts, David and Heather, who will add a 6th baby to the bunch in August, hosted a BBQ for those of us still too sleep deprived to fathom it. I think I told David that this was the longest amount of time I've been out of the house in 2 months. It was great. And so wonderful to celebrate the babies!
Here's Emeline, of course...And her new friends! Lot's of boys to choose from!
Noah
Josh
Jackson
and another girl to play with, Grace.
And here they are all together satisfying our need for baby cuteness. They are in birth order clockwise starting with Emeline, then Josh, Noah, Jackson, and Grace.
This week I got a do-over. I made it to the breastfeeding support group, which unfortunately was not that helpful, but I guess that means we're making progress and need less help. But I also picked something up at the store, and stopped by my doctors office to go over some billing issues. All in the same trip! Yes, all those things were located in the same building, but hey, I'll take the success!
Since I don't have a hilarious rant for you, I'll give you some cute Emeline pics instead. Here are more from Auntie Tracey's photo shoot. Enjoy!
