One and a half!
Adele turns 18 months today! A year and a half! Happy half birthday sweetie!
In the past few months, Adele has morphed from our easy, happy, mellow baby to a very busy, determined little toddler. She's still quite happy, but due to her determination, when her goals aren't met, she can get quite frustrated. She's even started hitting and pulling her big sisters' hair. I think all this stems from her strong desire to keep up with the pack. She wants to do everything her big sisters are doing, and it sure is hard when she's not quite old enough to do everything. But she's doing a great job at trying.
Adele loves to play with balls. She get's really excited about balls and works hard to throw them and kick them. She's even good at playing games by throwing or rolling balls back and forth with others. She's also very physically active and has become a great climber. She can climb most small play structures and go down slides by herself. She loves push and ride on toys and has even tried using a balance bike. She really wants to use Emeline's skateboard and gets frustrated when she can't quite do it.
Adele's talking has come along well lately too. She doesn't have a lot of words, but she's getting there. Some I've noticed are:
ba - ball
mama
dada
ada - Adele
popo
sheeze - cheese
shuuz - shoes
da - all done
yayaya - give it to me
hi
di - there
dis - this
(more sign)
(all done sign)
She might not have a lot of words yet, but she sure makes her desires clear. She shakes her head 'yes' and 'no' to answer questions. She points and squeals and all sorts of very intent Adele speak come out of her mouth. She has a lot to say, but she can't quite say it yet.
Adele is still our amazing sleeper. She goes to bed without a peep after stories and a song and she sleeps til morning. I joke that if she woke up in the middle of the night, I wouldn't even know how to help her get back to sleep, because it just never happens. She's almost dropped her morning nap, but every once in a while she will take one. She seems to like sleep too much to be content waiting for just an afternoon nap.
She must like to sleep so much because she's pretty much non stop these days. She's always running, playing, laughing, or getting into something. She also likes books. One of her favorites right now is a baby version of Dr. Seuss' "One fish two fish". She gets excited about all kinds of animals in books and real life.
Adele is also our little jokester. She loves to laugh at burps and farts. I guess she's got her daddy's humor. ;) She also loves to dance to music and to play all kinds of games with her sisters. She's full of energy and joy.
Here are a few of pictures of Adele from her first camping trip last weekend. She slept amazingly and loved exploring everything.
And here are a few of her saying "cheese" for the camera today. Happy 1.5 Adele!

Spring soccer pics
Emeline played soccer again this spring. We had a lot of fun with our French friends (and others too!) playing for the French recreational league in Sunnyvale, Les Petits Bleus. This year her team was called the BlueBerries.
There were no formal pictures for the spring season, so I took some informal ones to put together some gifts for the coaches. I'm not the best photographer, but they captured the memories.
Here are some fun action photos of the last couple games.
Great team spirit!
And here are some memories from the medal ceremony after lots of water play :)
It was a fun season!

Emeline's Preschool Graduation
Well it happened. The years have flown by and our sweet little Emeline has graduated from preschool.
Emeline started at Pasitos, a local Spanish immersion preschool when she was 2. It started as a place for her to go be entertained while I was home with baby Kate. We chose it because the staff are extremely loving, it is a very play based school with lots of room for our busy Emeline to explore, and of course because Emeline would be exposed to Spanish at such a young age. All of these things have been true, and Emeline has learned so much at Pasitos. She can write her name, do some basic addition and subtraction, but she also has great life skills of how to play well with other kids, participate in group activities, and her Spanish is blossoming. I'm sure she has learned more there than I'm aware. I'm so glad Kate and Adele will have many more years at Pasitos, so that even though Emeline's time there is coming to an end, it will be a part of our family for a few more years, so it's not quite goodbye yet!
Here are some pictures of the graduation festivities...
Everyone gathered and waiting for the graduates.
Pot luck dinner all set up...
Graduation cake I made for the occasion. The biggest cake I've made yet. A white sheet cake filled with fresh strawberries and french buttercream, iced with traditional buttercream and decorated with the Pasitos logo.
Lots of chasing Adele around the playground.
Our sweet graduating Emeline!
Emeline's good friends Fiona...
Nareya...
Wyatt...(She plans to marry this one).
And even though Emeline looks super shy and uncomfortable here, she said it was her favorite part of the graduation when her teacher called her up and said kind things about her.
Here's a little video of what her getting her certificate.
The graduates also made a poster to share with us.
The kids also sang a little song for us!
And Emeline with her buddies Josiah and Wyatt at the end of the event.

iPhone photo dump
Here's some glimpses into our life in May!
I love pictures of all three of the girls doing anything. Even if it is watching TV.
Enjoying being soccer fans.
Pancake morning! (As Kate likes to say.)
A hike with some preschool friends at Mt. Madonna.
Silly faces.
Kiddos in a box!
Sweet sleeping Kate. Poor thing often doesn't fall asleep until late, so I have to wake her to preserve bedtime.
Making slime.
Noticing the "flowers".
Fun with Aunt Diane at Emeline's soccer game.
All knocked out after Wyatt's pirate birthday party. Bounce house included of course.
Milkshake cupcakes for Pete's birthday. They turned out amazing!
Starting to want to ride.
The cutest superheros ever.
Saying good bye to Teacher Denise at MT. Emeline will miss her when she's in kindergarten next year. Teacher Denise is everyone's favorite.
Swinging home from the park with Uncle Greg and Papa.
Walking to the park with bouquets. Emeline paused and said "Take a picture of us. We're getting married."
Everyone wants to ride the skateboard. She fetched me Emeline's helmet, motioned for me to put it on, then went over to the skateboard and whined to ride it. At least she knows the rules, safety first!
Zipping herself in the trampoline.
Wanting to be part of the game.
A selfie on a Pier in SF for the Apple Watch Release party. A fun night out.
Our busy messy life.
