Happy Birthday Kate! I can't believe you are 5! Kate had been talking about having a My Little Pony Birthday for a few months, but she's been really having fun reading fairy books and playing fairies, so as we got close to her birthday, I asked her if she might like a fairy party instead! She went for it at we had lots of fun.
We had a simple party at the park with light "fairy" foods like tea sandwiches and fruit.
Our friend Elaine came to face paint and turn the kiddos into fairies, or anything else they wanted.
And of course fairy wings were worn.
Kate also insisted on having a piñata this year, and everyone had a great time with that.
And then, since it was a hot July day, we had a water balloon race, which ended in a water balloon fight.
We finished off the party with cake of course. It was my first pretty successful ice cream cake.
A good time was had by all, Happy Birthday Kate!
