Team Zuber is growing!

Well here's the post that is long over due. And with it...a new blog! Instead of the ramblings of the mind of Elaine, which you can still read here, now we've got a family blog. We thought the occasion warranted it.

So the long awaited story. This is the part of the birthday post that I waited to share.

I came home from work on my birthday. It was a Friday and Wes and I were going to go out to dinner. We thought that it was possible...just a little possible...that maybe I shouldn't have a beer with dinner. But we were super curious, and I wanted to know if I could have a birthday beer or not, so we took a test. And after a few minutes this is what we saw:

A faint little plus. What?!? Seriously?!? REALLY?!? No WAY! Wes ran to the computer to google pregnancy tests to see what other positive results look like. And oddly enough...they look a lot like this ;).

We were in shock. Happy of course, but in shock. You think about these wonderful things happening, but it's still shocking when they actually do.
So we went on our way to have a Salvadorian Dinner for Two...at a fun local restaurant in Mountain View. Sans the beer of course. We ate and talked about excitement and shock, not knowing quite what to do with ourselves. We took a walk, then headed home.

On the way home, still in shock, we thought....maybe we should take another test...you know...just to be sure. So we stopped at Walgreens and got a two pack. 2 for the price of 1! When we got home we whipped out the new test...this time digital, so less doubting about the faintness of the plus. And after a few minutes, we saw this:

A little more definitive this time.

So we went to bed, said our thank you and praiseful yet disbelieving prayers, and fell asleep....well it took a while, but eventually.

The next morning, we began to clean up around the house for my bday BBQ. And I just thought, well we have that third test, might as well take it. Cause it will probably expire by the time we need to take it again right? So what the heck...3*** tests it is. And this time, in less than a minute we saw this:
So, in sum...on my birthday, I found out I was pregnant pregnant pregnant. Probably my best birthday present ever.

And here's the first of many profile shots...you know, the before picture :)
***Note: According to Rebecca...the average woman takes 3 tests. So I'm not that strange after all :)
