Our friends Barry and Jessica were in town with their little one, Lindsey, before heading to the Philippines for a job in the US foreign service. So we decided to spend sometime out in the nice weather at the park.

One Week

She's been in the world for one week now. Happy One Week Birthday Emeline!

I cheated and took this photo yesterday, but it will be a great one to see how much she grows! And very fitting to have a photo with a lamb on Easter Sunday. Thanks Auntie Tracey!

Emeline's Inspiration

Lot's of people have been asking about Emeline's name. How do you pronounce it? Is it a family name?

Emeline is pronounced like 'emma + line', rhyming with Caroline, Clementine, or Adeline.

Wes and I have loved the music of Ben Folds for many years. Ages ago we heard the song 'Emaline' and really liked it. We thought, if we ever have a little girl, we'd name her after that song. Once we found out we were pregnant, we came back to that name, and we decided we liked the spelling 'Emeline'.

Emeline means 'hard working', and so far, she is a hard working little one. She's small, and slightly low energy for her age, but she's working at it. She's eating better now and gaining weight slowly. Her cry is getting louder and stronger now, which is such a blessing to hear. She's our sweet Emeline.

Emeline Elizabeth Zuber

Poll's closed everyone! It's a GIRL, and she's here!

Emeline Elizabeth Zuber made an early entrance into the world Monday night, March 29, 2010 at 5:56pm. She weighed 5 lbs 4 oz and is 18.5 cm long. Mommy and Daddy were surprised by her early arrival, but very glad to meet her. She is as cute and as sweet as can be, getting cuter every day.

Thanks to all for your prayers for Emeline and the whole Zuber family. Please pray that she'll continue to eat well, as she's still small and needs to get big and strong.

Babymoon

We had a lovely babymoon in Pacific Grove.  It was a good time to relax, even though I wasn't feeling great, and practice using our new camera.
