Advent

As we started out the Christmas season, we decided to start a family tradition of having an advent calendar to help us enjoy the expectation of celebrating the birth of Christ. Wes and I made little origami boxes, and we filled them with Bible verses from the Christmas story and little chocolates.
We knew Emeline probably wouldn't remember the events surrounding her first Christmas, but we wanted to start some new traditions anyway. On the nights leading up to Christmas, after dinner, we'd open up a box, read the verse and enjoy a little gift of chocolate. This turned out to be one of Emeline's favorite parts of the day. She just LOVED playing with the chocolate wrappers. After a few days, she would start to clap her little feet when she saw the boxes on table. Here's a video of her enjoying the wrapper. And don't worry! We didn't leave her unattended with those. :)
