Dad and Teri's Wedding

This summer, my Dad and Teri got married.  It was a big weekend for both families, watching two people who didn't know they would find a partner again, join their lives together.

The wedding was in Prescott Valley, Arizona, where Teri's parents live.  We rented a big house for my dad, us, and Great Grandma Diane to stay in, and the girls enjoyed hanging out with Grandpa in the days before the wedding.

The day before the wedding, I spent some time baking the wedding cupcakes.  It was lots of fun to get to bake for a big event in a giant commercial kitchen at the venue.  I made chocolate, carrot cake, and I decorated some gluten free vanilla that Teri had baked.

On the wedding day, the girls enjoyed very much being a part of the ceremony as flower girls, handing out gifts to the guests.

All the grandkids were involved in the ceremony putting together a puzzle that showed all their family photos together, showing the joining of families.

Uncle Dave officiated the ceremony with a beautiful message of how God did not create us to be alone, but intended us to have partnership.

After the ceremony there was much dancing and fun.

And at the very end, Dad and Teri revealed to the grandkids that we were all going to Disneyland for their "Family-moon"!  I didn't get any pictures of that, but the kids were stoked!

Nicaragua Blog

I am super delayed on blogging as usual.  I've got a preschool graduation, a 3.5 birthday, and a 5 year old birthday (if not more to catch up on).  I'll post pictures from there eventually ;).

But in the mean time, if you are still following this blog, take some time to follow our church's trip to Nicaragua!

I'll see you on the other side!

Kate's 5th Birthday

Happy Birthday Kate!  I can't believe you are 5!  Kate had been talking about having a My Little Pony Birthday for a few months, but she's been really having fun reading fairy books and playing fairies, so as we got close to her birthday, I asked her if she might like a fairy party instead!  She went for it at we had lots of fun.

We had a simple party at the park with light "fairy" foods like tea sandwiches and fruit.

Our friend Elaine came to face paint and turn the kiddos into fairies, or anything else they wanted.

And of course fairy wings were worn.

We also had a fairy house making table, which was a bit difficult in the wind, but still fun.

Kate also insisted on having a piƱata this year, and everyone had a great time with that.

And then, since it was a hot July day, we had a water balloon race, which ended in a water balloon fight.

We finished off the party with cake of course.  It was my first pretty successful ice cream cake.

A good time was had by all, Happy Birthday Kate!
